The itinerary

Day 01

Pickup in Gorakhpur and Drive to Pokhara

  • Once you arrive at the train station in Gorakhpur, you will be picked up and driven to the border at Sunauli Border, which takes about 2-3 hours.

  • After a tea break, continue your journey to Pokhara, which takes another 5-6 hours.

  • You will reach in the evening and have a free and leisurely evening.

Day 02

Sarangkot Sunrise and Pokhara Sightseeing

  • Early at dawn, hike up to Sarangkot viewpoint to witness nature's ethereal light show as the sun rises over the Annapurna range, turning its peaks from white to gold.

  • After breakfast, visit the deep, narrow gorge of the roaring Seti River, then drive to Devi's Falls and continue to Gupteswar Cave and the Bat Cave.

  • In the evening, relax by Phewa Lake and enjoy a leisurely row on its sparkling waters.

Day 03

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

  • After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Kathmandu, which takes about 6-7 hours.

  • Then, enjoy a free and leisurely afternoon and evening. You can walk along Thamel street before staying overnight at the hotel.

Day 04

Kathmandu Heritage Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, depart the hotel for a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the "city of glory."

  • Visit Durbar (Palace) Square, the epicentre of religious and cultural life, an area filled with old temples and historical significance, along with glorious old Newari architecture. Some of the sights include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar, home to the Living Goddess.

  • Afterwards, visit Swayambhunath Stupa, said to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world, majestically set high on a hill overlooking Kathmandu Valley.

  • Proceed towards Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple, whereas tourists can view the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River.

  • Later, visit Boudhanath, a Buddhist stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes, each facing the four cardinal directions, watching for righteous behaviour of mankind and for human prosperity.

Day 05

Drive to Bandipur

  • Drive to Bandipur, a living museum of Newari culture. With its glorious 18th-century architecture and medieval ambience, all of Bandipur is a sight, and you can make short hikes to villages, temples, viewpoints, and mysterious caves.

Day 06

Drive to Chitwan National Park

  • From Bandipur, drive onward to Chitwan National Park, a famous wildlife-viewing national park in Asia and a World Heritage Site, where you will have an excellent chance of spotting one-horned rhinos, deer, monkeys, leopards, wild elephants, the royal Bengal tiger, and 450 species of birds.

Day 07

Wildlife Activities in Chitwan

  • For watching wildlife, birds, and rare species of flora and fauna, you can either go on a jungle safari deep into the park in a four-wheel jeep or on foot, or choose a more relaxing canoeing trip on the Rapti or Narayani Rivers. You may also go elephant riding, which is more thrilling than comfortable. Moreover, you can head out to explore the surrounding Tharu villages.

Day 08

Drive to Lumbini

  • From Chitwan, drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha.

  • The spiritual heart of Lumbini is the Maya Devi Temple, where the Buddha was born under a Bodhi tree. Other sights in Lumbini include Ashoka Pillar, Buddhist monasteries, the World Peace Pagoda, and Lumbini Crane Sanctuary.

Day 09

Drive to Sunauli Border and Drop in Gorakhpur

  • Today is your last day in Nepal, so after breakfast in Lumbini, depart for Sunauli Border (Nepal-India Border), which takes about 1 hour to reach.

  • Then continue onward to Gorakhpur.
