The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival and Transfer to Chilaw Beach

  • Meet the guide at the airport, and from there you will be transferred to Anantaya Resort and Spa in Chilaw, which will take approximately 2 hours by road. Anantaya Resort & Spa Chilaw offers guests a tranquil Sri Lanka holiday with a soft sand beach, uninterrupted ocean views, international cuisine, and a host of sports and other activities.

Day 02

Safari in Wilpattu National Park

  • Plan to take a safari, and the guide has chosen the country's largest but least visited national park for this itinerary. The well-experienced safari driver will take you deep inside the jungle to see wildlife.

Day 03

Transfer to Kalundewa and Sunset at Sigiriya or Pidurangala

  • After the safari, you will move further inland. Your next resort will be the Diyabubula Jungle Hideaway.
  • After checking into the hotel, you will rest for a few hours, and in the evening, you will climb either Sigiriya Rock or Pidurangala Rock - you can choose one of them - and enjoy the sunset view from the top of Sigiriya.

Day 04

Yoga, Village Cycling Tour and Kalundewa Tank Boat Ride

  • Rest in the morning, and in the afternoon, you will explore the nearby rural village by bicycle. You can also enjoy an amazing traditional boat ride in the Kalundewa tank or a yoga session on the hotel premises.

Day 05

Transfer to Nuwara Eliya via Kandy

  • Leave for Nuwara Eliya, and on your way there, you will pass through the cultural capital city of Kandy.
  • Go with your guide, who will take you on a tour around Kandy City. You can have lunch while witnessing the Ramboda waterfall and other nearby waterfalls. As this tour is themed around relaxation and charm, your next destination will be an old colonial luxury bungalow - Glendevon Bungalow, the calmest place you can find in the town.
  • After three hours of driving, you can relax and rest for the day in the bungalow.

Day 06

Nuwara Eliya Walking Tour and Tea Experience

  • Visit the charming town of Nuwara Eliya. The guide will take you on a walking tour around the town, followed by a visit to a tea plantation and a tea factory tour. This guided tour will be private and exclusively for you.

Day 07

Train to Ella, Nine Arch Bridge and Transfer to Weerawila

  • Have breakfast, leave Nuwara Eliya, and head towards Nanu Oya station to catch the train to Ella. The tour operator will provide first-class compartment seats for you.
  • Arrive at Ella station, where your guide will meet you, and after this, you can have lunch in Ella.
  • Then, trek to Nine Arch Bridge and Mini Adams Peak.
  • Later, transfer to your next hotel, Sarai Village. Sarai offers a treasure of exciting discoveries. Whether it's winding down to restful bliss or heightening the adrenaline, there is always a new eco-adventure awaiting exploration.

Day 08

Relaxation Day with Optional Resort Activities

  • Relax for the day. You can rest or enjoy some fun activities offered by the resort, such as cooking your catch, pottery, cycling, nature trails, and more.

Day 09

Transfer to Galle and Walking Tour of Galle Fort

  • Have breakfast and transfer to Galle, your last destination on this tour.
  • Visit and take part in a walking tour inside the Galle Dutch Fort conducted by your guide.
  • Head to a hotel in Galle. The guide has chosen Cocobay Unawatuna Resort, where you will be greeted with serene blue water, making it the perfect last stop of this tour.

Day 10

Departure Transfer to the Airport

  • The guide will transfer you to the departure terminal of the airport. The representative will see you off at the airport.

Know before you go

  • Timezone: Sri Lanka observes the Indian Standard Timezone (IST). There are no daylight-saving time clock changes.
  • Hotel timings: Check-in is after 1400 hrs. Check-out is before 1200 hrs. Please inform in advance if there is a need for early check-ins and/or late check-outs.
  • Electrical adaptor: Sri Lanka uses electricity at 230V, 50Hz and has electric outlets in a triangle configuration, so it is advisable to carry an international travel adaptor to avoid any inconvenience.
  • Currency: The official currency of Sri Lanka is the rupee (LKR). You can exchange any major foreign currencies at the airport or bank.
  • Climate/weather: Sri Lanka has a tropical climate and is always warm. However, it is much cooler in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Ella; thus, warm clothes are recommended. Sri Lanka observes two monsoons: the southwest monsoon from May to September brings rainfall to the southwest part and western side of the central mountains, and the northeast monsoon from December to February brings rain to the north and northeast parts of the country.
  • Temples and dress code: As a mark of respect, all genders should cover their shoulders and knees when entering a place of worship in Sri Lanka. You are also required to remove shoes and hats and are not allowed to take photos, turn your back, or stand in front of the statue.
  • For all travellers, a valid passport and visa are required. All visitors are encouraged to apply for visas through ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). A tourist visa is valid for three months; therefore, the passport should be valid for no less than six months after the holder's date of arrival.
  • Immunizations and health: No immunizations are needed. Dengue fever is common in the region, but there is no vaccination against it. Travellers need to take precautions against mosquito bites, visit the nearest hospital if they suspect infection, and are advised to bring insect repellent and sun cream.
