Absheron Peninsula Highlights Tour

  • Meet your guide after lunch at an agreed-upon location.

  • Drive to Ateshgah, also called the Temple of Fire. This temple is the most famous place on the Absheron Peninsula and is loved by visitors to the city. The sanctuary of the eternal fire was built in the 17th century on the site of the most ancient temple of the Zoroastrians. The ancient exhibits located in the present cells of Indian and Zoroastrian hermits will help you understand how Zoroastrianism used to be practised.

  • Head to the famous guesthouse where the "father of The Three Musketeers," Alexander Dumas, and the great Russian chemist Mendeleyev stayed.

  • Make your way to Mardakan Castle, also called the Quadrangular Fortress. The castle is a 13th-century Shirvan architectural monument that was built during the Mongolian invasion of Europe and Asia. At the top of the fortress walls, experience how it feels to be in charge of the fortress.

  • Explore Yanardag, or the Burning Mountain, next. The natural eternal flame that has burst from deep inside this mountain for many centuries is a unique natural phenomenon.

Conclude your tour with drop-off at your hotel.
