Set out early from Kigali for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. After the scenic drive to the park headquarters, you’ll receive a briefing from park officers and be assigned to a gorilla group before heading into the forest with a ranger guide.

The trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, but the reward is extraordinary: one full hour in the presence of these remarkable primates. After the trek, return to the gate, enjoy lunch, and travel back to Kigali with drop-off at your hotel.

The itinerary

Day 01

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

Today Our driver will pick you up from your City Hotel at 5 a.m. to start your journey to Volcanoes National Park. The journey to Volcanoes National Park takes an average of 2-3 hours and on reaching the park offices, you will be briefed by park officers and then assigned to a gorilla group to track.

You will then be led into the forest by a ranger guide to track the primates. Gorilla trek may take between 30 mins to 8 hours depending on the movements of the primates. However, upon locating the gorillas, you will then spend 1hr with them. After a wonderful time, we trek back out of the forest and then transfer back to the gate. Proceed for lunch and later depart for Kigali where you get dropped off at your hotel.
