3-Day Masai Mara Safari from Nairobi with Mara River Game Drives

• Start the journey at 7:00 am after an early breakfast.

• Meet your guide at your accommodation in Nairobi and set out for the Masai Mara National Reserve by road. This is a long but interesting drive through the Great Escarpment, with breathtaking views of the floor of the Rift Valley.

• Drive through Masai land, passing remote villages and occasionally spotting wild animals and herdsmen driving their livestock through the fields.

• Take a break at Narok, one of the largest Masai towns, which is struggling to detangle itself from Masai culture and dominance.

• Reach Masai Mara in good time for lunch and check in at your lodge or camp. Spend some time at leisure to relax.

• Set out for an afternoon game drive at 3:30 pm in this famous and sprawling park.

• Come face to face with nature and enjoy observing wildlife up close. Spot prides of lions, cheetahs, or leopards, along with a variety of herbivores including elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and gazelles.

• Continue your game drive until sunset, then head back to the lodge for dinner.

• Leave for an early morning safari at 7:00 am after an early breakfast.

• Penetrate deep into the park as far as the famous Mara River, where you may witness the seasonal migration of herds of animals as they embark on a frenzied journey from the Serengeti. The movement of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles is a great spectacle to watch as they attempt to cross the Mara River with ravenous crocodiles lying in wait. See nature unfold right in front of you.

• Enjoy a picnic lunch in a convenient location in the shade of an acacia tree overlooking the Mara plains.

• Return to the camp or lodge with an en-route game drive.

  • Optionally, visit a traditional Masai village for an authentic cultural experience.

Later, return to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.

• Leave at 6:30 am to watch the sunrise above the horizon of the Mara.

• Catch the activities of the big cats, which are very easily spotted at this hour. Enjoy the safari for 2 hours before returning to the camp for a proper breakfast.

• Leave for your journey back to Nairobi at 10:00 am.

• Stop for lunch, preferably at Narok town.

Proceed to Nairobi, arriving in the evening and concluding your trip.
