Belém by Boat and the Tagus River Landmarks
Embark on this tour and enjoy a 360º perspective of Lisbon and the Tagus River with your Lisbon tour guide.
Start the visit at Praça do Comércio, where you will board the boat towards the Tagus River.
Make an outside visit to Belém Tower, considered national heritage and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Torre de Belém was built in the 16th century to protect the Tagus River from pirate attacks, and its architectural style is known for its Manueline Gothic finish.
After visiting the tower, continue to Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a memorial to sailors, explorers, and "men of letters" who set out to sea in search of new territories from the 15th century onward.
To end the tour, visit the ex-libris of the Belém neighbourhood, Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Belém is therefore a place where the world of the Portuguese Discoveries is explored.
