Sailing Through Boka Bay to Perast, Žanjice, and Blue Cave
Start from Kotor Marina and sail along the coast of one of the most beautiful bays in Europe. Venetian-style palaces and dramatic cliffs above the sea create scenery you will never forget.
During the cruise, visit the history-rich town of Perast and the artificial island of Our Lady of the Rocks, where you will learn beautiful legends.
Along the way, Porto Novi, an unsurpassed marina and resort for the wealthy, is always an excellent place to stop and taste Balkan cuisine in luxury style, or enjoy the ultimate luxury at Bloom restaurant - the choice is yours.
While sailing to Žanjic, you will pass between the old fortresses of Mamula and Arza. Mamula Fortress was built in 1853 by Austro-Hungarian general Lazar Mamula as part of the Austro-Hungarian Army's contingency plans to prevent enemy entrance into Boka Bay. Arza Fortress had the same role. Today, both greet ships and sailors entering the bay.
Žanjice and Mirista are the gems of this part of the South Adriatic coastline. The open sea and blue, clear water are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, diving, or even trekking to Arza Castle or to the island and Monastery Vavadenije Presvete Bogorodice, built in the 12th century.
The natural attraction Blue Cave is on the way back to Kotor, and it is a must-visit for all tourists in Montenegro.
On the way back, Tre Sorelle is another beauty on the Boka Bay coastline, with a legend of love and faith that you may learn while sailing here. Architectural monuments and palaces, rich in history and stories of the bravery of local naval officers, will leave you wanting to come back again and again.
