The itinerary

Day 01

Mount Longonot Hike and Rift Valley Views

Get picked up from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi for a comfortable 70 km drive to Mt. Longonot.
Make a brief stop at the great escarpment for a scenic view and enjoy a cup of Kenyan coffee.
Arrive at the base of Mt. Longonot and embark on the 12 km hiking expedition. You may choose to tackle this expedition on your own or with the help of a Longonot mountain guide available at the gate at a cost of USD 20. Your hike will take between 3-5 hours, depending on your level of capability.
Reach the summit and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Rift Valley, along with a beautiful view of Lake Naivasha to the left. You will have the option to take the extra 3 km around the crater rim or begin your descent.
Come back to the base for some relaxation and refreshments.
Set off for lunch at Mai Mahiu town.
Embark on your return journey to Nairobi, with options for a shopping break.
Arrive in Nairobi at around 5:00 pm after an amazing day. End of the tour.

The hiking difficulty is moderate, and as there is only one way up to the peak and summit area, a level of courtesy is required to give way to faster trekkers. An average level of fitness is required to hike up the crater rim and descend back to the base in approximately 4 hours.
