Day 03

Choose Your Day Trip from Krakow

Please choose one tour:

  • Zakopane:

    • Take a break from the city and head to Zakopane and the spectacular Tatra Mountain landscape on a guided day trip from Krakow. Discover the highland culture and get a taste of local cuisine, including the famous EU-protected oscypek cheese. Zakopane is known as the capital of the Polish mountains. Its stunning alpine scenery and priceless views from up high attract tourists year-round. Zakopane is also well worth visiting for the excellent ski jump Wielka Krokiew, Jaszczurówka Church, the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, and Pęksowy Brzyzek Cemetery. You will also go to Gubałówka, with its funicular railway and alpine slide, for a bit of mountaintop adventure. Duration: 8 hours

  • Dunajec Gorge:

    • The Dunajec raft ride through the Pieniny Gaps is one of Poland's most fantastic tourist attractions. The tour operators can assure you that this time will be full of excitement. You will be impressed by views of mountain peaks and vertical rocky slopes next to the river, which takes unexpected turns. These will be lasting sensations. You will also see St. Michael Archangel's Church in Dębno Podhalańskie. Duration: 9 hours

  • Zalipie:

    • This colourful village is famous for decorating its houses with cheerful paintings on the walls and stoves, crepe-paper flowers, paper-cut designs, and hay spiders. This small ancient town in south-eastern Poland is one of the country's top tourist attractions - not because it has five-star hotels or massive glass buildings, but on the contrary, because of its small wooden cottages painted in the most vibrant colours. Duration: 6 hours

  • Eagles' Nests Landscape Park:

    • Join a trip to selected sites located in the Eagles' Nests Landscape Park. During this one-day trip, you will have a chance to see fantastic mediaeval buildings as well as picturesque landscapes of the Krakow-Częstochowa Upland. The Trail of the Eagles' Nests is a tourist route running through the Małopolskie and Śląskie Voivodeships. It starts in Krakow, ends in Częstochowa, and spans 164 kilometres. The route's name comes from the ruins of castles and strongholds lying along it. They are called 'Eagles' Nests' because of their location on rocks, some of which are 30 metres high. Itinerary: Kraków - Korzkiew - Pieskowa Skała - Błędowska Desert - Ogrodzieniec - Mirów - Bobolice - Kraków. Duration: 10 hours

  • Family Home of John Paul II:

    • Discover the history of an exceptional man whose pontificate holds a unique place in the world's recent history - the former Krakow archbishop Karol Wojtyła, more commonly known as Pope John Paul II. His timeless message sent to people all over the globe is an expression of incredible wisdom and understanding of contemporary issues. Pope John Paul II gained widespread respect by stressing the role of values common to different cultures, religions, and beliefs, and by calling for reconciliation, cooperation, and solidarity. He became a moral authority for millions of people. Duration: 7 hours

  • Ojców National Park:

    • Ojców National Park is the smallest national park in Poland. This beautiful place is located only several kilometres from the city of Krakow. It is made up of a fantastic mixture of mountains, forests, rivers, caves, gorges, and rocks. There are also two historical gems here: the castles of Ojców and Pieskowa Skała. A distinctive landmark found in the park is a rock in the shape of a massive club. Due to its unique shape, it is called Maczuga Herkulesa (Hercules' Club).

    • Another thing that makes Ojców unique is the legend connected with King Łokietek (Władysław I the Elbow-high). He hid from the pursuit of King Wenceslaus II of Bohemia in Ojców's caves. One of them, called King Łokietek's Cave, has an exciting layout and beautiful karst formations, and is one of the most famous caves in Poland. Duration: 6 hours

  • Wooden Monuments Tour:

    • Wooden monuments are a significant part of Polish cultural heritage. Most of them in Lesser Poland are Catholic and Orthodox churches, whose domes and turrets adorn the country and city landscape. Other wooden monuments include manors, palaces, and other rural and municipal buildings. During the tour, the guide will do their best to bring you closer to the gems of Polish wooden architecture inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    • The tour starts at 8:00 am and lasts around 10 hours, with transport taking 4.5 hours. The first town you will visit is Lipnica Murowana, with St. Leonard's Church, built at the end of the 15th century. It is one of the six wooden churches in southern Lesser Poland that belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    • The next stage of the tour is St. Michael Archangel's Church in Binarowa. It is one of the most valuable examples of late Gothic architecture in Poland. The next stop on the route is the village of Sękowa, where there is another example of Gothic wooden architecture - St. Philip's and St. James's Church, built at the beginning of the 15th century. This church is known as the 'Pearl of Beskid Niski'.

    • The last point of the tour is a visit to Owczary, where the Orthodox Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin is located. It is one of the oldest Lemko Orthodox churches, erected in the first half of the 17th century. Join this tour and discover the pearls of Polish architecture. Itinerary: Kraków - Lipnica Murowana - Binarowa - Sękowa - Owczary - Kraków.
