Wooden Churches and Heritage Sites West of Kraków

Travel from Kraków/Cracow and encounter:

Racławice - Founded in 1511, the Parish Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary has survived into modern times with only slight alterations. Inside, you can admire impressive gothic carpentry details dating back to the time when the church was built.
Paczółtowice - The Parish Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Paczółtowice was built around 1510 and is probably the second church to stand on this site. Among its furnishings, you can see relics from different periods representing various architectural styles.
Wygiełzów - The Vistula Ethnographic Park Museum in Wygiełzów is located at the foot of Lipowiec Castle. The first buildings were placed here in 1969, and today 23 West Cracovian wooden buildings are spread across 5 hectares.
Mętków - The baroque, three-nave Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa was built in a hall-church layout using larch wood. The church fittings include admirable altars.
