Day 01

Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine in One Day

Oświęcim is located some 31 miles (50 km) west of Krakow. It is home to the former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau and, as such, has become known as a place of martyrdom, suffering, and death.

You will be taken to Auschwitz I, where you will join an English-language tour provided by the Museum's guide for about 2.5 hours.
After that, transfer to Auschwitz II - Birkenau, about 2 km away. You will spend about 1 hour there with the same guide.
Wieliczka is one of the most beautiful places close to the city. This famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the salt mine, is visited by thousands of tourists every year. You will then be transferred to the Salt Mine in Wieliczka, one of the oldest working salt mines in the world - it has been producing table salt for over 700 years.
Attend the English-language guided tour. Your Wieliczka tour guide will take you up to 140 metres underground for a 2.5-hour journey through a tourist route more than 2.5 kilometres long, full of chambers with unique carvings and statues, where everything is made of salt.

Auschwitz-Birkenau and Salt Mine in Wieliczka in one day: this tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz-Birkenau in a single day. If you are visiting Krakow just for a short weekend, it may be a perfect option for you.
The maximum size of bags and backpacks allowed inside the Auschwitz museum is 30x20x10 cm.
For safety reasons, each person entering the grounds of the Museum will be subject to security checks, including the use of electronic devices to detect dangerous materials and objects. Those who refuse checks will not be allowed onto the grounds of the museum.
To reach the first level of the mine, 64 metres underground, you have to descend a wooden stairway with 378 steps.
After the tour, you will be taken back to the surface by lift.
