2-Day Southeast Albania Village Tour from Tirana with Ohrid Lake

• Get picked up from your hotel, then start the tour to the southeast of Albania with your Albanian tour guide.

• The first stop is at Ohrid Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of Europe's deepest and oldest lakes, preserving a unique aquatic ecosystem of worldwide importance.

• Enjoy the view, then visit the Drilon area and Tushemisht village.

• After a coffee break, continue toward Voskopoja village. Voskopoja sits 1,200 meters above sea level and is a perfect place for hiking and walking. In the past, Voskopoja had over twenty Orthodox churches; however, only seven are still standing today. Complete with 18th-century frescos, both inside and out, they are worth checking out. The landscape of Voskopoja and its surroundings is stunning, and you will enjoy an easy-going hike to the neighbouring village of Shipska.

• After breakfast, drive to Korça city. Korça is the city where the largest carnival in Albania is organized, taking place before Orthodox Easter. The city is also known for its local songs, called "serenata".

• Get to know the city through a walking tour, visiting museums such as the National Museum of Medieval Art, the first Albanian school, and the central monument of the city, the Orthodox Cathedral.

• After lunch, drive to Lin village. It was once called "Lake of Light", perhaps because the light of both the sun and the moon wholly illuminated its surface year-round.

• In the evening, return to Tirana city.
