Wooden Churches of Lesser Poland
The tour starts at 8:00 am and lasts around 10 hours. Transport lasts for 4.5 hours.
The first town you will visit is Lipnica Murowana, home to St. Leonard's Church, built at the end of the 15th century. This is one of the six wooden churches in southern Lesser Poland that belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
An alternate stage of the tour is St. Michael Archangel's Church in Binarowa, one of the most valuable examples of late Gothic architecture in Poland.
The next stop on the route is the village of Sękowa, where you will find another example of Gothic wooden architecture - St. Philip's and St. James's Church, built at the beginning of the 15th century. This church is known as the "Pearl of Beskid Niski".
The last point of the tour is a visit to Owczary, where the Orthodox Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin is located. It is one of the oldest Lemko Orthodox churches, erected in the first half of the 17th century.
