San Francisco to Yosemite National Park Adventure
Depart early in the morning, around 7 am. The three-and-a-half-hour drive takes you through the Bay Area and across the Central Valley before climbing into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and arriving at the Yosemite gate by 10:30 am.
Once in the park, enjoy 6 to 7 hours packed with sightseeing and a variety of outdoor options. You can spend your time however you wish, from relaxing next to the Merced River to taking a strenuous hike up to Columbia Rock or Vernal Falls.
You may even spot climbers on El Capitan with your Yosemite tour guide.
Take in Yosemite's towering granite walls and visit the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias, which have been one of California's biggest draws for centuries. The long day is worth every minute as you explore the 'Crown Jewel' of national parks.
Typically, a picnic lunch and/or breakfast is picked up midway through the drive, although there are also sit-down dining options available in the park.
