4-Day Julius Nyerere Safari from Dar es Salaam with Fly Camping

• A 45-minute flight from Dar es Salaam will take you to Julius Nyerere National Park, a jungle of marvels!
• Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your lodge for check-in and a safari briefing.
• You will have the afternoon at leisure before embarking on your first evening game drive at around 16h00.
• In the evening, we will drive back for dinner and overnight on a full-board basis.

• Selous boasts a rich diversity of wildlife, where the Big Five can easily be identified. Early in the morning, we will leave the camp or lodge with a packed breakfast and disappear into the jungle. Unpredictable as it is, Nyerere National Park hosts many African elephants, whose presence can be noticed everywhere, from their tracks to the trees broken down while searching for food.
• You will enjoy the drive through miombo woodlands accompanied by choruses from various species of passerines. Around 09h00, we will find a beautiful Combretum tree or a spot on the lakeshore, where we will set up breakfast and continue the game drive until the afternoon.
• We will go back to the camp or lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure before heading out again for an evening game drive.
• In the evening, we will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight on a full-board basis.

• On this day, we will leave the camp early in the morning with a packed breakfast and our fishing gear in the boat, then cruise upstream on the Rufiji River for another adventure. Cruising along the Rufiji River can reward you with sightings of leopards drinking on the riverbank, elephants swimming across the river from one side to the other, or a pride of lions finishing their kill before disappearing into the thickets.
• In the late morning, as we slowly drift back to the camp, we will stop and throw our fishing rods for catfish or aggressive tigerfish, to be served back at the camp according to your choice.
• In the afternoon, we will boat back to the camp for lunch and an afternoon at leisure.
• To be discussed on arrival, this afternoon we can leave for fly camping. This will take you out of your lodge or camp to a suitable place where we will pitch our fly tents along with our chef, waiter, and armed security guards to ensure our safety during the night. A full bar is set, along with an open kitchen and a stargazing tent from where you will be practising your astronomy.

On this day, from the fly camp, we will take a short walking safari to experience and get in contact with the earth while watching birds and identifying trees and flowers.

We will walk back to the fly camp for breakfast before jumping into our game-viewer vehicle for a short game drive en route to the camp.

You will pack your luggage and be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Dar es Salaam, or extend your holiday to the beautiful island of Zanzibar.
