Tien Sa Port, Da Nang Highlights and Hoi An Ancient Town

In the morning

  • Between 8 am and 8:30 am, your Da Nang tour guide and driver will pick you up at the Tien Sa Port gate. Please walk out around 500 meters from your cruise ship, and you will see your tour guide holding a welcome board with your name on it.

  • Get into a nice, clean minivan and start your Tien Sa Port to Hoi An tour.

  • At 9 am, arrive at Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula. It is the biggest pagoda in Da Nang city and home to Vietnam's tallest Lady Buddha statue. The Lady Buddha statue is 67 m tall above sea level.

  • From Son Tra Peninsula, enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the ocean and Da Nang city. If you are lucky, you may also see mountain monkeys coming down from the trees in this holy pagoda.

  • The next wonderful place you will visit is the Marble Mountains. As you know, this is a cluster of five limestone mountains. The Marble Mountains represent the five fingers of Buddha and the five essential elements that create the Universe. They are truly a masterpiece of nature in Da Nang city.

  • Visit beautiful caves with fantastic Buddha statues formed by erosion and the skilful hands of local artists.

  • From the peak of the mountain, enjoy great views of Da Nang city, My Khe Beach, and Hoi An Ancient Town.

In the afternoon

  • Around 12 pm, have a lovely lunch at a local riverside restaurant in Hoi An.

  • After lunch, continue the tour. As you know, Hoi An Ancient Town was Vietnam's biggest international trading port from the 16th century. Many merchant ships from countries such as Portugal, Spain, China, and Japan came to Hoi An. Hoi An was a place on the Silk Road of the world, so it is famous for colourful lanterns, silks, and tailors.

  • On this tour, you will visit some iconic places in Hoi An, such as the Japanese Covered Bridge - the special bridge built by the Japanese community who lived in Hoi An in the early 17th century. As you know, it is not only a bridge, but it also has a house on it. On both sides of this special bridge, there are two pairs of dogs and monkeys. In the middle of the bridge, there is an altar to worship the Northern God.

  • Next, visit Tan Ky Old House. It is an ancient house with three different architectural styles: Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese. The soul of this house still exists, and nowadays it is a national heritage site of Hoi An and Vietnam.

  • After visiting the 200-year-old house, continue to the beautiful and welcoming Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. As you know, when the Chinese came to Hoi An, they built many assembly halls to reduce homesickness, help each other in business, worship their gods, and build a close community.

  • Last but not least, explore Hoi An Market with your Hoi An tour guide.

  • Learn some other useful tips about Hoi An Ancient Town. There are many interesting activities you should do in Hoi An, such as visiting the silkworm and silk-making factory, the only place in Hoi An where you can see and touch silkworms and learn how locals make authentic Hoi An silk. Moreover, you can also see many handicrafts here, such as wood carving, lantern making, embroidery, and clothes making.

  • Ride basket boats and go fishing with local fishers, which is also an exciting activity in Hoi An. Plus, Hoi An is a perfect place for shopping, practising your photography skills, and enjoying great coffee.

  • You can also join a Hoi An cooking class, get a foot massage, or have clothes made at local tailor shops.

  • A Hoi An street food tour is a must if you want to taste the local specialities.

  • Around 3:30 pm, return to the minivan and head back to Tien Sa Port.

  • At 4 pm, arrive at Tien Sa Port and finish the tour.
