Itinerary

Prague City Overview and Detailed Jewish Quarter - Private Tour
- Your local licensed guide will meet you at your hotel (recommended starting as early as possible, around 8:00 am) and do a combination of driving and walking to get a general overview of the city covering all main highlights.
- Visit the following places:
  - Wenceslas Square
  - The State Opera House
  - The National Museum and the Statue of St Wenceslas
  - Prague Castle (including St. Vitus Cathedral)
  - Pařížská (Paris) Street
  - Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock
  - Charles Bridge
  - Kampa Island
- Stop for lunch at a traditional Czech restaurant or spend some free time at the main square, with many shops and restaurants.
- After Lunch, head to the Jewish Quarter and see the following:
  - The Old Jewish cemetery (where the graves lie up to twelve layers deep), including Rabbi Loew's grave
  - The Pinkas Synagogue
  - The Spanish Synagogue
  - The Old-New Synagogue
  - The Klausen Synagogue

Know Before You Go

The first part of the tour is a mixture of walking and transport by a small van with a driver to maximize the sites you will see in the most efficient way possible - without stressing the body too much. After lunch, continue on foot throughout the Jewish Quarter.

The tour guide's vehicle can accommodate a maximum of 4 people. However, if there are more than four people, please inform your tour guide in advance so that a minivan can be hired.

The Jewish Quarter Tour is the guide's most popular tour. You'll see four well-preserved synagogues, including the oldest anywhere north of the Alps; also, a moving tribute to Czechoslovakia's lost Jewish population in the Pinkas Synagogue. You'll also visit the Old Jewish Cemetery, where the graves lie up to twelve layers deep and where you'll find the resting place of Rabbi Loew, renowned as the creator of the Golem. Prague is home to the largest collection of Judaica in the world, and there is no other country that has so many historical Jewish artifacts in one place. This neighbourhood largely resembled an open-air Jewish heritage museum, almost frozen in time.
