Cameron Highlands, Batu Caves, Waterfalls and Gardens

  • Depart at 7 am for the Cameron Highlands, a hill resort known for its large tea plantations, farmlands, and aborigine communities.

  • Enjoy a bonus stop at the iconic Batu Caves and climb 272 steps to the temple of the Hindu deity Lord Subramaniam, who is honored during Hindu festivals. The 140-foot statue of the deity is mesmerizing. Ladies should have their knees and shoulders covered.

  • Visit the cascading waterfalls, where the water flows into a narrow stream and locals often go for a cool dip. The nearby shops are full of souvenirs, tribal handicrafts, unusual herbs, tropical fruits, and aphrodisiacs to browse.

  • Proceed to meet the aborigines. These jungle dwellers treat the rainforest as their supermarket, where they find all of life's necessities. A blowpipe demonstration awaits you.

  • Enter the Butterfly Farm & Insectarium, a secret paradise where around 5,000 butterflies dance among ferns and scented flowers. The landscaped gardens, exotic plants, freshwater turtles, and many insects make this a thrilling visit.

  • Stroll through the area to see the various vegetables and fruits grown in the Camerons.
