Depart at 7 am for the Cameron Highlands, a hill resort known for its large tea plantations, farmlands, and aborigine communities.
Enjoy a bonus stop at the iconic Batu Caves and climb 272 steps to the temple of the Hindu deity Lord Subramaniam, who is honored during Hindu festivals. The 140-foot statue of the deity is mesmerizing. Ladies should have their knees and shoulders covered.
Visit the cascading waterfalls, where the water flows into a narrow stream and locals often go for a cool dip. The nearby shops are full of souvenirs, tribal handicrafts, unusual herbs, tropical fruits, and aphrodisiacs to browse.
Proceed to meet the aborigines. These jungle dwellers treat the rainforest as their supermarket, where they find all of life's necessities. A blowpipe demonstration awaits you.
Enter the Butterfly Farm & Insectarium, a secret paradise where around 5,000 butterflies dance among ferns and scented flowers. The landscaped gardens, exotic plants, freshwater turtles, and many insects make this a thrilling visit.
Stroll through the area to see the various vegetables and fruits grown in the Camerons.
Visit the Cactus & Flower Gardens, home to a wide range of cacti in various shapes and sizes, along with beautiful flowers that thrive in the Camerons due to its conducive weather.
