The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Lusaka, the Capital City of Zambia

  • Meet the tour representative along with the driver at Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
  • Transfer to and stay at StayEasy Hotel, near Lusaka Central Business District, about 24 km from the airport.

Day 02

Departure from Lusaka

  • 05:30 – 06:50 am: Breakfast.
  • Short briefing from the tour director on important country info and safety issues.
  • 06:00 am: Board overland vehicle (SUV 4x4D or overland truck/bus depending on group size).
  • Route: Lusaka → Mazabuka → Monze → Choma
  • Pass Lusaka landmarks: Findeco House and Kafue Roundabout.
  • 07:50 am: Stop at Kafue River and Kafue Road Bridge for photos and information.
  • 08:20 am: Drive through scenic landscapes, green farms, villages, and schools.
  • 10:30 – 11:00 am: Tea break in Mazabuka (“sweetest town” of Zambia).
  • 11:30 am: Depart for Monze (72 km).
  • 01:20 pm: Arrive in Monze, have lunch at Food Royal or Indian Restaurant.
  • Visit Sama Lya Moomba Heritage Site outside Monze in Chief Choongo's area.
  • 02:00 pm: Depart for Choma (97.4 km). Pass villages: Rusangu, Chisekesi, Pemba, Muzoka, Batoka.
  • 03:00 – 04:55 pm: Arrive in Choma. Visit Choma Museum and Craft Centre, including the art gallery. Outdoor tour of Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula statue within museum grounds.
  • Spend the night at a good-level lodge in Choma.

Day 03

Choma → Kalomo → Livingstone

  • 05:30 – 06:10 am: Wake-up call, breakfast, and check-out.
  • 06:20 am: Depart for Kalomo via T-1 road.
  • Before Kalomo: Pass Kalundu Mound, an Iron-Age village site.
  • 08:00 am: Arrive in Kalomo, first colonial capital of Northern Rhodesia (1907).
  • 12:00 – 12:10 pm: Enter Livingstone, Zambia’s adventure and tourist capital.
  • 12:30 – 02:00 pm: Check in at a good-level lodge.
  • Evening at leisure. Enjoy lodge bar or lounge (drinks at own expense).
  • 07:30 pm: Fresh, healthy dinner by executive chef.
  • 08:00 pm: Retire to bed or explore Livingstone nightlife (own cost).
  • Alternative accommodation may be provided if Waterfront Lodge is full.

Day 04

Livingstone Activities

  • 08:00 – 10:30 am: Tour Victoria Falls and local craft market.
  • 10:30 – 11:00 am: Return to Livingstone city.
  • 11:00 – 12:30 pm: Visit Livingstone Museum.
  • 12:30 – 01:00 pm: Explore Livingstone city centre (colonial buildings, shops, banks, local markets). Withdraw cash if needed.
  • 14:00 pm: Lunch break.
  • 14:30 pm: Afternoon rest.
  • 15:00 pm: Visit National Arts Gallery of Zambia.
  • 16:00 pm: Experience Mukuni Village, interact with locals, and learn about African culture.
  • Return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Livingstone – National Park and Adventure Activities

  • 05:30 am: Wake-up call and bath.
  • 06:10 am: Pick-up for Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Pay park entry fees.
  • 06:45 – 09:30 am: Game drive and Rhino walk safari in open 4x4 safari vehicle with guide.
  • Encounter elephants, buffalo, white rhinos, giraffes, impala, zebra, warthogs, baboons, hippos, crocodiles.
  • Visit Old Drift Crossing Point and Cemetery.
  • 09:35 am: Breakfast at lodge.
  • 10:00 am onward: Optional water and adventure activities (at own cost):
  • Devil’s Pool or Angel’s Pool swimming experience
  • Bungee jumping
  • Abseiling
  • Canoeing, kayaking

Final Departure

  • Arrival & Accommodation - On Day 1, guests arrive at Lusaka's Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. Accommodation is at StayEasy Lusaka Hotel or another good tourism facility if StayEasy is fully booked.
  • Rooms include air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box, a private bathroom, and free Wi-Fi.
  • Meals on Day 1 are prepared by the tour company and delivered to rooms. Guests may eat at the lodge's restaurant at their own cost if preferred.
  • Activities begin on Day 2; Day 1 is for rest, hotel check-in, and optional short visits to nearby shopping malls such as Levy Shopping Mall.
  • Tour Essentials - The tour operates three times weekly: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • Travel from Lusaka to Livingstone (485 km) takes 2 days, including a one-night stopover in Choma.
  • Overland safari vehicles may include SUVs, 4x4s, or overland trucks depending on participant numbers.
  • The tour is guided by English-speaking Zambian guides with professional photographers.
  • COVID-19 and hygiene protocols are followed as per WHO, WTTC, and CDC guidelines.
  • Health & Safety - Malaria Risk: Zambia is a high-risk malaria destination. Guests must take antimalarial medication and use mosquito nets and repellents. Consult your physician before travel.
