The itinerary

Day 01

Bucharest to Poienari Citadel, Sibiu and Sibiel Village

In the morning, meet your Romania tour guide for pick-up from your hotel or directly from the airport, if your arrival flight is on the same day.
Set off for Arefu to visit Poenari Citadel, the "real Castle from the Carpathians", a fortress now inhabited only by vultures and the bad-luck-bringing bats.
Follow the Olt River valley, cross the Carpathian Mountains into Transylvania, and reach Sibiu. Visit the medieval city of Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture in 2007.
In the evening, drive to Sibiel, a picturesque village situated 18 km from Sibiu.
Visit the Glass Icon Museum and the church.

Dinner and accommodation will be in a local family's house in Sibiel, where you will have the chance to experience real Romanian hospitality. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner with alcoholic drinks included.

Day 02

Sibiel Village to Sighisoara and Brasov with Bran Overnight

After breakfast, head to Sighisoara, which Vlad Tepes called "home", one of the most beautiful towns in the heart of Transylvania. The medieval citadel is part of UNESCO World Heritage, and German architectural influences are visible throughout the city.
Here, enjoy a nice lunch (optional) on the terrace of Vlad Dracula's House, today a famous restaurant.
In the afternoon, admire the beautiful landscape, dotted with small villages, medieval citadels, and fortified churches.
On the way to Brasov, visit the medieval part of the city:
- The Black Church
- The Town Hall
- The Black Tower
- The White Tower
- Ecaterina's Gate
- Schei Gate
- Rope Street - the narrowest street in Europe

Dinner (no alcoholic drinks) and accommodation will be at a pension in Bran village, in a room overlooking Bran Dracula's Castle and the surrounding mountain landscapes.

Day 03

Bran Castle and Peles Castle to Bucharest

Savour the fresh air and breakfast in the morning.
Visit the famous Dracula's Castle, as in Bram Stoker's legendary vampire story.
Continue to Sinaia, the beautiful mountain resort surnamed "The Pearl of the Carpathians", where you will visit Peles Castle, one of Romania's most beautiful palaces and the former summer residence of the Romanian kings.
En route to Sinaia, you can visit the Rhein-Azuga wine cellars (optional). Here, enter the cellars for a sparkling wine tasting and lunch.
Return to Bucharest in the evening.

The tour is available all year round except Mondays, when Peles Castle is closed for visits.
The tour can be organized even for 1 solo traveler; please ask for the price.
