Madrid de los Austrias and Royal Landmarks Tour
- Meet your guide and start your excursion.
- Take a walk through El Madrid de los Austrias, a historic area named for the many monuments that date back to the 16th and 17th centuries, when the Austrias (Habsburg Dynasty) reigned in Spain.
- Explore Plaza de Oriente, a square in Madrid's historic centre, the Royal Palace-Palacio Real, the largest functioning royal palace and the largest by floor area in Europe, and Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, which was consecrated by Pope John Paul II in 1993.
- Marvel at Calle Mayor, Plaza de la Villa, St. Michael's Market, Cava de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol. Any suggestion about any other monument or site to visit will be welcome.
- Because the Palace is a working royal palace, security and opening arrangements may change at short notice. In that case, you can do a 4-hour walking tour or combine the walking tour with a Prado Museum guided tour.
