The National Palace of Queluz is one of Portugal's leading examples of Rococo and Neoclassical architecture from the second half of the eighteenth century, originally designed as a summer residence before becoming the royal family's permanent home in 1794. Continue to Azenhas do Mar and Praia das Maçãs to enjoy the Atlantic breeze, then stop at Cabo da Roca, once known as the "end of the world," before taking in Guincho and the scenic coastal road through Estoril, made famous by the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Day 01

Queluz Palace and Lisbon's Atlantic Coast

Start the tour by admiring Queluz Palace with your Portuguese tour guide and roaming around its gardens.
Travel to Azenhas do Mar. A true masterpiece of popular architecture, this village has the shape of a crib with several ledges up the hill. Almost every house is painted white, and the village has a small bay where an ocean pool was built.
Drive along the Sintra mountain to:
- Cabo da Roca - Europe's westernmost point.
- Guincho Dunes and the Natural Park of Sintra/Cascais.
- Make a photo stop in Cascais.
Return to Lisbon along the panoramic road over Estoril.
