Itinerary

Day 1: Tehran - Rineh - Basecamp
Begin your journey after having breakfast with a 3-hour drive (100 km) from Tehran (Hotel or Guide's office) to Rineh (2200 m high). Have delicious homemade lunch at a guest house in Rineh, where you can leave your extra baggage.
After buying everything you need, head to the Southern Base Camp of Mount Damavand (3100 meters, 45 minutes away) in SUV cars (Jeeps). The southern Base camp is called 'Goosfandsara' (meaning a place for sheep), as it used to be where local shepherds brought their flocks before trekking.
Begin your acclimatization process at 4 pm and after settling down in your tents. The process consists of a two-hour trek up to 3700 meters. After descending to Goosfandsara (1 hour), end the day by having dinner and getting a good night’s sleep in private tents or rooms (as preferred).
Accommodation: Tents or room in Goosfandsara (Damavand Base camp)
Meals included: Lunch | Dinner

Day 2: Bargah-e-Sevom
Get up at 7 am and hand your baggage to the porters.
At 8 am, embark on a 4-hour trek to Bargah-e-Sevom hut (4200 m high), taking a normal and technically easy trekking route.
After settling in your tents/rooms, having a light lunch to avoid issues due to elevation gain, drinking water to stay hydrated and getting some rest, begin the second acclimatization trek at 3 pm. The process involves a 2-hour trek during which you will reach 4700 meters.
Descend to the hut. (About 1 hour) Have dinner at 7 pm. The meal would be rich in carbohydrates, like pasta, to provide you with enough energy.
Go to bed at 8 pm as you will have to get up at 5 am the following day.
Accommodation: Beds or tents in Bargah Sevom Hut
Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 3: Damavand Summit - Basecamp - Rineh
Get up at 4 and, after having breakfast, leave the hut at 5 am.
Take the route to the peak that doesn’t have technical difficulties. Start trekking from the right ridge of the mountain and continue on this path until you reach Abshar-e-Yakhi (Damavand ice wall).
Continue on the left route until you reach the triangular rock (almost 5350), where you start seeing sulfuric hills. At this point, you are only one hour of trekking away from conquering Damavand’s magnificent peak.
Stand on the peak and enjoy the beautiful landscape. If you are lucky enough to be there on a cloudless day, you can see the Caspian Sea and other peaks in the Alborz mountain range.
Make this day timeless by taking photos and then start descending back to Bargah-e-Sevom around noon. The route is easier than the ascending route, and it’ll take you 3 hours to get to the hut.
After resting and eating at the hut, descend back to Goosfandsara in two hours and take an SUV car to Rineh village.
Take your swimming suits and head to Larijan village to experience the hot spring pool and lamb Kebab that it’s famous for.
End this adventurous day as you get back to the hotel to sleep.
Note: If exhaustion makes you unable to get back to Goosfandsara, it’s possible to spend the night at the hut.
Accommodation: Guesthouse in Rineh Village
Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 4: Drive back to Tehran
Wake up at 10 in the morning after getting enough sleep the previous night. Have breakfast and pack your bags and say your goodbyes to get back to Tehran.
Leave at 11, and it’ll take you 2 hours to get to Tehran. Get dropped off at your hotel or any other requested location. It’s also possible to add Tehran sightseeing to the 4th day.
Note: If you choose to stay at the hut on the third day, you will descend to Goosfandsara on the fourth day and leave for Tehran after arriving at Rineh village.
Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch
