The itinerary

1
Day 01

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • Take an early flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886 m).

  • Upon arrival in Lukla, refresh at one of the hotels and then begin your trek to Phakding (2640 m).

  • Trek along a gentle climb on the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi. Nupla (5885 m) can be seen at a stone-throwing distance on the opposite bank.

  • Reach Phakding in the late afternoon.

Day 02

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

  • After breakfast at Phakding, commence your trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m). The trail follows the right bank of the Dudh Koshi, with Thamserku standing majestically skyward on the opposite bank.

  • Then reach Bengar. The trail now climbs from the riverbed on the left bank into the mountain, through a forest to Chumoa.

  • Continue along the trail with many ups and downs, cross a stream, and pass by the tiny village of Monjo.

  • Then come to the Sagarmatha National Park Service, where the park entrance fee is to be deposited.

  • Follow a short walk along the riverbed of this V-shaped valley, where the river forks: Dudh Koshi to the right and Bhote Koshi to the left.

  • Now begin the steep ascent to Namche Bazaar. On the way, you will have excellent views of Everest (8848 m) and Lhotse (8516 m). Surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, Namche Bazaar (3440 m) is a central hub of the area for food, trekking gear, and other necessary goods.

Day 03

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

  • Rest at Namche Bazaar (3440 m) for acclimatization. It is considered an ideal place to adjust to the high altitude before heading towards Tyangboche.

  • Go up to Khumjung Monastery, located in a small settlement of the Sherpa community.

  • Enjoy the splendid views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, Kwangde, and more from here.

  • While returning to Namche, visit the museum just above the town that exhibits Sherpa culture.

Day 04

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche

  • After breakfast at Namche Bazaar, head towards Tyangboche (3867 m). The trail continues ahead along a steep cliff that drops down to the Dudh Kosi. In this section too, you will have panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Ama Dablam (6812 m), Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse (7855 m), and Tawoche (6501 m).

  • Visit Trashinga and Phunki Tenga, then reach Tyangboche. Tyangboche offers a good view of sunrise and sunset over Everest and Ama Dablam.

Day 05

Descend through Forests to Dingboche

  • Leaving Tyangboche behind, descend through a rhododendron forest and enter Deboche.

  • Cross a suspension bridge at Imja Khola, head towards Minlinggo, and enter the Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse.

  • Finally, arrive in Dingboche with your Nepali trekking guide.

Day 06

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • Today, acclimatize at Dingboche (4260 m) to become familiar with the local climate.

  • After breakfast at the tea house, go around the village and, in the afternoon, even hike up to Chhukum. It also provides majestic views of Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche Peak, and others.

  • In the late afternoon, return to Dingboche and take a rest.

Day 07

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

  • Head towards Lobuche from Dingboche, a journey of about five and a half hours on a normal walk. The onward trail is gentle up to Pheriche village. Along the trail, you will be privileged to have panoramic views of Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde (5741 m), Kongma-Tse (5820 m), and the great wall of Nuptse.

  • Have lunch at Dugla (4595 m) and continue trekking to Lobuche.

Day 08

Trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep

  • After breakfast at Lobuche, trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep (5140 m). This is the most rewarding section of the trek. The trail winds along a rocky path beside the Khumbu Glacier. The views of Nuptse, Lho-La, and Khumbutse appear at a stone-throwing distance.

  • Visit Everest Base Camp and then return to Gorakshep.

Day 09

Sunrise at Kala Patthar and Trek to Pheriche

  • Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545 m) and then continue to Pheriche (4243 m).

  • Early in the morning, get ready to climb Kala Patthar (5545 m) and enjoy the sunrise. From here, you will see Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, and many more. The Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is available at Pheriche, where foreign volunteer doctors provide medical treatment.

Day 10

Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

  • Today, trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m). It takes about six hours to reach Namche Bazaar on the way from Tyangboche.

  • En route, visit traditional villages such as Khumjung and Khunde.

  • Explore the monastery that has a Yeti scalp.

  • Finally, arrive at Namche Bazaar in the late afternoon.

Day 11

Final Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

  • After breakfast at the tea house in Namche Bazaar, trek to Lukla. It is the last day of your trek. Lunch will be served on the way.

  • Upon arrival in Lukla, refresh yourself and take some rest.

Day 12

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

  • Board your early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

  • Upon arrival at TIA, you will be received by representatives and transferred to the hotel.
