Day 01

Budhanilkantha Temple and Nagi Gumba Hike

Meet your tour guide/driver at the agreed-upon location and visit two interesting religious sites.
Marvel at Budhanilkantha Temple, situated below Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu Valley. See the large reclining statue of Lord Mahavishnu. The temple's main statue of Budhanilkantha is considered the largest stone carving in Nepal.
Enjoy a hike through Shivapuri National Park to reach Nagi Gumba. This area has long been an important water catchment area, supplying the Kathmandu Valley with several hundred thousand cubic litres of water daily. In 1976, the area was established as a protected watershed and wildlife reserve. See the daily routine of the nuns in the monastery.
