Ta Prom, Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom Highlights
- Begin your tour after breakfast and travel to Ta Prom, one of the most enjoyable temples and a famous Buddhist monastic complex.
- Explore the narrow, secret passages and eventually reach a giant ficus tree strangling the surrounding structures and the temple's tower.
- Drive on to begin your visit to the world wonder of Angkor Wat with your Angkor tour guide.
- Approach the east gate when the sun is shining, as the towers offer the best light for photography and a quieter atmosphere to enjoy the surroundings.
- In the afternoon, continue to Angkor Thom, which was once the largest populated city in the world. Begin your visit at Death Gate, then take a short walk along the wall to reach the very photogenic Gate of Victory, which is also excellent for birdwatching.
- Carry on by car to Preah Vihear Pram Pi Lveng. This active monastery plays an important role in the area's history, having housed a great Buddhist king for over a century without anyone finding out.
- Continue walking to the Elephant Terrace and end at a massive structure standing prominently in the center of the area.
