The itinerary

1
Day 01

Old Tbilisi Walk, Narikala Fortress and Folk Show Dinner

  • Meet your Georgian tour guide and begin in the Old Tbilisi area.

  • Visit the sulfur bath district, hear the ancient history of the capital city, and walk to Leghvtakhevi Waterfall.

  • Enjoy a spiritual experience at the only mosque in Tbilisi.

  • Explore a small open-air museum with the oldest Roman-style bath from the 1st-2nd century.

  • Hop on a cable car for a trip to Narikala Fortress.

  • Take a walk around Meidan Square.

  • Stroll through the famous narrow streets of Tbilisi - Chardin Street, Erekle II Street, and the Iron and Cotton rows.

  • Marvel at the Sculpture of Tamada.

  • Cross the Bridge of Peace.

  • Be amazed by the performance at Gabriadze Puppet Theatre.

  • Take a breather at Rike Park.

  • Enter a Georgian restaurant for a traditional show of folk dances and songs.

Day 02

Georgian Military Highway, Ananuri and Gergeti Trinity Church

  • Drive along the famous Georgian Military Highway and stop at some of its main sights. Halt at Jinvali Reservoir, a beautiful and peaceful lake in the middle of the hills.

  • Next, stop at Ananuri Fortress, an excellent example of medieval architecture and the witness to many important battles. If you wish, you can even climb one of the towers still standing and enjoy the panoramic view over Jinvali Reservoir.

  • Continue into the mountains via winding roads and enjoy marvellous views on all sides. Pass mineral springs and beautiful mountain rivers, including the joining point of the Black and White Aragvi, until you finally reach Gudauri at a height of 2,400 m.

  • Visit the Friendship Arch in Gudauri, a famous Soviet monument at the highest point of this road. You can enjoy paragliding here.

  • Tour Kazbegi, one of Georgia's must-see destinations, known primarily for its fantastic hiking routes and stunning nature.

  • Visit Gergeti Trinity Church, a must-visit in this area. Built in the 13th century, this church is located 1,800 meters above sea level (5,905 feet) and offers panoramic views.

  • If you are able to do challenging hiking tours, you can visit Gveleti Waterfalls.

Return to Tbilisi and stay overnight.

Day 03

Mtskheta Heritage Sites and Ancient Uplistsikhe

  • Visit Mtskheta, a museum town known for its historical buildings and UNESCO Heritage monuments.

  • Explore Jvari Monastery and enjoy the amazing view from the top, where the two rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi join.

  • Proceed to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and learn its fascinating story.

  • Walk around the wonderful streets of the ancient city and visit the stores for souvenirs, handmade gifts, coffee, and fresh juices.

  • Continue to Uplistsikhe, one of the rarest monuments in the world. This ancient rock-hewn town is cut into the volcanic rocks of the Kvernaki ridge. It was first mentioned in the annals of the 1st century BCE and prospered in the 9th-10th centuries.

Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 04

Kakheti Wine Region, Signagi and Bodbe Monastery

  • Leave for the Kakheti area, the heart of Georgia's wine-making traditions. Visit Signagi, which stands out as an offbeat place to visit in the Caucasus region.

  • En route, stop at the KTW wine factory for a short tour and wine tasting.

  • Visit the old fortification wall and, from the top, enjoy the breathtaking view over the Alazani Valley.

  • On the way, stop at Badiauri village and taste home-made Georgian bread - Shoti - baked in a clay oven, and enjoy the amazing taste of buffalo yogurt from local people.

  • Visit a wine cellar for wine tasting sessions along with delicious Georgian food (if you wish).

  • Explore Bodbe Monastery.

Return to Tbilisi for an overnight stay.
