The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu and Trek Briefing

  • Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, meet the Kathmandu tour representative and transfer to your hotel.

  • After refreshments, receive a short briefing about the trek.

Day 02

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

  • Drive to Pokhara. [210 km - 5-6 hr] [Optional: 30 min flight]

  • Enjoy some free time in the evening, during which you can explore around Phewa Lake and Pokhara's tourist places on your own.

Day 03

Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga

  • Take a short drive to Nayapul in the morning and start the trek from Nayapul.

  • After a short preparation of the luggage for the porters and getting yourself ready, take the trail that leads on an easy walk towards Birethanti along the river.

  • Stop for the check-in formalities at the ACAP office.

  • Follow the trail towards Bhurundi Khola, enjoying great scenery and passing through several countryside villages all the way up to Tikhedhunga.

Day 04

Uphill Trek to Ghorepani

  • Prepare for the long uphill hike to Ulleri, which has 3,200 stone steps, and enjoy an amazing landscape with the valley and the short range of Annapurna. It may get a little tiring on the upper steps; however, the beautiful view gives you the power to keep walking.

  • After a short walk from Ulleri, the trail leads you through the rhododendron forest.

  • Continue uphill to Ghorepani for excellent views of the entire Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Day 05

Poon Hill Sunrise and Trek to Tadapani

  • Get up early in the morning and walk for about an hour to Poon Hill to see the amazing sunrise. The view of the shining mountains is excellent for photographs.

  • After about one hour, descend to the lodge at Ghorepani and trek to Tadapani after breakfast. The beginning part of the trail is a steep uphill climb to the ridge through stone steps.

  • After a few ups and downs, reach Deurali for a short break.

  • Pass through the forest and enjoy a short and easy walk to the ridge.

  • Then go steeply down to the river to cross the bridge.

Day 06

Trek from Tadapani to Sinuwa

  • Descend through the forest for a while and continue down to the river to cross a suspension bridge at the bottom.

  • Take an easy walk after the short climb.

  • Continue to Chomrong and go steeply downhill to the bottom of the hill.

  • Climb up to Sinuwa.

Day 07

Forest Trail from Sinuwa to Deurali

  • Start with an easy walk through the forest and head towards Bamboo.

  • Continue climbing up to Dovan. Then the trail leads you through the valley towards Himalaya, where you may stop for lunch.

  • Climb to Deurali.

Day 08

Climb to Annapurna Base Camp

  • Climb up through the valley to reach Machhapuchhare Base Camp.

  • Take an hour-long rest before heading to the Base Camp.

  • If you have no problem climbing further, continue walking to Annapurna Base Camp for the overnight stay. If you have difficulty walking further, you should stop here for the night.

Day 09

Descend from Base Camp to Bamboo

  • Take the morning excursion, after which the trail drops down through the same valley to Deurali and continues downhill through the forest.

  • Follow an easy downhill trail that is not steep and offers interesting hiking.

  • Stop at Bamboo.

Day 10

Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Hot Spring

  • Take the trail uphill through the stone steps to the ridge and begin an easy walk to Sinuwa.

  • Follow the trail that drops down to the bottom of the hill and continue the climb up to Chomrong.

  • After lunch, take the Chomrong trail, which drops steeply down to Jhinu.

  • Once you arrive at the guest house, walk 15 minutes downhill to the riverbank, where the hot spring is located. It is said that when you take a bath in it, you wash away all your sin.

  • Take a short climb back to the lodge for the overnight stay.

Day 11

Return to Pokhara

  • Go to the hot spring again this morning, then trek down to Nayapul.

  • Drive back to Pokhara.

Day 12

Return to Kathmandu and Cultural Dinner

  • Drive or fly back to Kathmandu. [Optional: 35 min flight]

  • Enjoy a Nepali dinner with a live cultural show at a Nepali restaurant in the evening. [Complimentary]

Day 13

Departure Transfer to the International Airport

  • Enjoy some free time until departure.

  • Then transfer to the international airport for your flight.

  • Personal clothing and gear, sleeping bag, and down jacket for the trek

  • Tipping (expected by guides and porters, but not mandatory)

  • Costs arising from flight cancellation, emergency rescue charges, landslides, weather, political unrest, illness, or re-routing that are not under the tour operator's control
