4-Day Lankayan Island and Sandakan Tour with Wildlife Encounters

• Get picked up by your Malaysian tour guide from the airport or your hotel.

• Transfer to Sandakan Jetty for the boat ride.

• Complete the registration and board the boat for the 1-hour and 45-minute journey.

• Arrive at Lankayan Island and proceed to check in to your room.

• Enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the beach.

• Then, have your meal at the hotel.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Today, begin your diving lessons at the Lankayan Dive Centre.

• After the lessons, divers will have three boat dives daily and unlimited house reef dives in front of Lankayan Dive Centre. These house reef dives are not guided, so please find your buddy to dive with.

• Non-divers will be free for the entire day and can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, and ocean kayaking.

• After an early breakfast at the resort, check out from Lankayan and transfer to the jetty, followed by an overland transfer to Sandakan Jetty.

• Upon arrival, get picked up by your Sandakan tour guide and head out to explore the city's various landmarks.

• Visit St. Michael Church, the Sandakan Heritage Museum, and Central Market, where you will find a fantastic variety of fresh seafood and agricultural products.

• Then, visit Sim-Sim Water Village, where houses are built close to the water surface, offering a fascinating sea view.

• Visit Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, situated on the hilltop of Tanah Merah and offering a panoramic view of Sandakan Bay. Continue to Agnes Keith House, where the books Land Below the Wind and White Man Returns were written. Today, the house is a heritage museum providing an exciting insight into life during the British colonial period in North Borneo.

• After that, proceed for lunch.

• Later, transfer to the hotel.

Overnight at the hotel.

• Today, visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured orangutans are brought to be rehabilitated and taught how to fend for themselves back in the wild. Sepilok is a primary lowland forest and a fine showcase of Borneo's remaining rainforests.

• Continue to Sabah's first Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) and get an opportunity to view the world's most miniature bear. Mr Wong Siew founded the Conservation Centre in collaboration with the Sabah Wildlife Department, Sabah Forestry Department, and Land Empowerment Animals People (LEAP), a non-government organization set up to prevent the endangered bear from becoming extinct.

• After lunch, visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) to discover the uniqueness of Borneo's rainforests. The RDC's main highlights are its exhibition halls, the Plant Discovery Garden, and the Rainforest Walk. You may enjoy practising your balancing skills by crossing a short suspension bridge.

• Proceed to the exhibition hall, which has a great deal of information about nature, wildlife, and other exciting things with your local Sandakan tour guide.

• Walk around the Plant Discovery Garden.

• Next, move to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary and see the Proboscis monkeys from reasonable proximity, along with Silver Leaf Langurs, Pig-Tailed Macaques, Oriental Pied Hornbills, and Kingfishers.

• Transfer to your hotel or Sandakan Airport.
