Samarkand City Highlights

  • Our city tour starts from your hotel or railway station with pickup at 9:00 am. Samarkand awaits us today. Under the rule of Timur, it was considered one of the world's most beautiful cities.
  • First, admire the palace-like mausoleum of the ruler Timur, the Gur-Emir Mausoleum. Then proceed to the highlight of our trip - Registan Square, with its three impressively huge and artistically decorated madrasahs. Afterwards, visit the once-largest mosque in Central Asia - Bibi Khanum Mosque, one of the most famous sights of the city, overwhelming visitors with its grandeur and size. After the visit, continue to the colourful Siab Bazaar, where all sorts of exotic, spicy smells fill the air and souvenirs for every taste can be found.
  • Today's lunch is our national cuisine, Plov (optional). It is a rice pilaf with meat, carrots, onions, and spices, with tender chunks of meat and fluffy rice full of aromatic flavours. All guests who come from overseas should taste Plov at least once in their life.
  • In the afternoon, explore one of the most glamorous stations along the Great Silk Road, once a thriving cultural and commercial centre at the intersection of caravan routes and now a modern city that has lost none of its appeal. Explore both the ancient and modern monuments of Samarkand today, including the Afrosiyob Museum, the Ulugbek Observatory, and the Shakhi-Zinda Complex.
  • Towards evening, you will be dropped off at your hotel or train station for your next destination, and the tour ends there.
