The itinerary

Day 01

Kotor, Lovćen National Park, Njeguši Village and Skadar Lake

• Meet your Montenegro travel guide in front of the port of Kotor or at another suitable location in the Kotor area.
• Head towards Njeguši village via the old switchback road, and make a photo stop at the top of Lovćen mountain.
• Stop for the zipline at the top of the mountain if you wish to try it (optional).
• Explore Njeguši village in Lovćen National Park:

• Enjoy homemade snacks in an old traditional tavern-restaurant.
• Visit a smokehouse and learn how smoked ham and cheese are made.
• Drive to Skadar Lake.
• Go on a boat ride on the lake, with the option for a short swim.
• Take an optional lunch break at a magnificent restaurant by the lake and the Rijeka Crnojevića River. You can try excellent fresh food and wine while enjoying one of the most amazing views. Your guide can book a table for you at the restaurant if you let him know in advance.
• Make a quick photo stop above Budva and St. Stephen Island on the way back. Once a fisherman's village, it is now a modern islet-hotel known for visits by the popular jet set and superstars.
• Drive back to Kotor.

• Embark on a journey through mountains rising from the sea and a unique fairytale swampy area. My goal is to transfer passion and local spirit to you!
• You will be thrilled by the fantastic 25-switchback road climbing Lovćen mountain as it rises from the sea. The view from the top will blow your mind! For adrenaline lovers, a zipline that connects two peaks is a must-try. We will find old dry-stone wall houses and leading food brands in the country in Njeguši village. In a smokery, you will learn little secrets about the way our ancestors used to make traditional smoked prosciutto, cheese, and brandy. The food we will taste reminds me of my childhood grandparents' food.
• Pavlova Strana viewpoint overlooks the fairytale Rijeka Crnojevića in Skadar Lake National Park. Everything we see from the viewpoint we will later visit by boat. A scene of swans and herons greeting us, surrounded by reeds and lake flowers while we taste lake nuts picked fresh from the lake, will make you feel like a local. You can jump in for a short swim from May to October.
