Day 01
Island Hopping, Mengkabong Cruise, Sunset and Fireflies
- Meet your Kota Kinabalu tour guide at your hotel lobby and proceed towards Jesselton Jetty by van or coach.
- Take a 20-minute boat ride to two of these beautiful islands - Sapi, Mamutik, and Manukan - for a day of relaxation, sunbathing, snorkelling, diving, and water sports activities such as sea walking, jet skiing, flying fish, parasailing, banana boat rides, and scuba diving. You can also swim in crystal-clear waters filled with coral reefs and colourful fish.
- Devour your barbeque lunch served on the island before returning to the mainland.
- Arrive at the jetty and continue by land for the next leg of your journey to Mengkabong, approximately 45 minutes away.
- High tea or local refreshments will be served before you proceed on a memorable and educational river cruise about the importance of the mangrove forest.
- Witness the simplistic way of life of the indigenous Bajau fisherman tribe, descendants of the Bajau Sea Gypsies, and participate in crab catching using traditional methods as you cruise along the river.
- Visit the local Oyster/Mussels Farm and indulge in a fun round of fishing.
- Take a breather on the white sandy beach at the river mouth to catch a spectacular sunset.
- Head out on a night river cruise to catch glimpses of scintillating fireflies as they slowly light up and decorate the mangrove trees like a Christmas tree.
- Savour a delicious dinner and return to your respective hotel.
