Wildlife Conservation and Sandakan City Tour
- Get picked up by car or coach and transfer to the Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured orangutans are rehabilitated and taught to fend for themselves before returning to the wild. Sepilok is a primary lowland forest and a fine showcase of Borneo's remaining rainforest. The highlight is witnessing the feeding of orangutans from a platform in the centre of their forest enclosure.
- Watch a scheduled 25-minute documentary video for an overview of the orangutans.
- Continue by visiting Sabah's first Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC), located next to the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. Get a closer look at the world's smallest bear from the observation platform.
- After lunch, proceed to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, situated in the centre of the mangrove forest on about 400 acres, along with the coastal land near Samawang Village.
- Head to one of the platforms to view proboscis monkeys at close range. You may also be lucky enough to see silver leaf langurs, pig-tailed macaques, oriental pied hornbills, and kingfishers.
- Proceed on a city tour and explore the various landmarks of Sandakan with your Sandakan tour guide, such as:
- St. Michael Church.
- Sandakan Heritage Museum.
- Central Market, with its amazing variety of fresh seafood and agricultural products.
- Sim-Sim Water Village, where houses are built close to the water surface and offer a fascinating sea view.
