The itinerary

Day 01

Mt. Kilimanjaro Day Hike to Mandara Hut and Maundi Crater

• Meet your tour guide and start early in the morning. Leave Moshi and depart for Marangu Gate for a one-day Mount Kilimanjaro hike. The drive takes approximately 1 hour.
• Complete the gate registration and begin your hike. Walk along a narrow trail through Kilimanjaro's rainforest up to Mandara Hut, where you may meet mountain climbers descending from the summit.
• Reach Mandara Hut and have your lunch. There is also a possibility of taking a short walk to Maundi Crater. On a clear day, the eastern views over Taveta and the northwestern views toward Mawenzi Peak are stunning, making the short hike well worth the effort.
• Have the opportunity to take photos upon arriving at Maundi Crater before descending to Marangu Gate with your Kilimanjaro mountain guide.
• Meet the vehicles waiting at Marangu Gate for your transfer back to Moshi.
