Hike Mount Longonot, an extinct volcano rising dramatically from the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Discover the mountain's unique feature: a thick forest lying within its crater. This dormant volcano is said to have erupted in 1800 and rises 750 m above the Great Rift Valley floor and 2780 m above sea level. Along the way, enjoy scenic views and look out for wildlife such as buffaloes, elands, bushbucks, common zebra, giraffe, and gazelles.
