The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Cairo

  • Meet the tour representative upon arrival at Cairo International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 02

Giza Pyramids and Papyrus Gallery

  • After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day exploring some of the most beautiful sites in Cairo.

  • Your Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your hotel for visits to:

    • The Great Pyramids of Giza: the three pyramids of the kings Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus.

    • The Sphinx: a statue with the head of King Chephren and the body of a lion.

    • The Valley Temple of Chephren: the site of the mummification of the body of the great king.

  • Then, after lunch at a local touristic restaurant, proceed to the Papyrus Gallery to learn how the ancient Egyptians manufactured the first writing material in history, paper. You will also have time for some shopping there.

Day 03

Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, and Khan El-Khalili

  • Head to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which houses more than 100,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the collection of the Golden King Tut Ankh Amon.

  • Have lunch at a local touristic restaurant.

  • Continue your tour with a visit to Old Cairo, the old Christian quarter of the city, which still has some of the oldest churches in the world, dating back to the 4th and 5th centuries, such as the Hanging Church and Abu Sirga Church (Crypt of Virgin Mary).

  • Reach the nearby Jewish Synagogue of Ben Izra, then head out to see the Mosque of Amro, the oldest mosque in Africa, dating back to 642 A.D.

  • Walk on to Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest street markets in Cairo City, built in 1382 A.D. There, you will have the chance to enjoy an exquisite shopping experience and pick up Egyptian souvenirs for family and friends.

  • At the end of the day, take your sleeper train to Aswan from Giza Train Station.

Day 04

Aswan High Dam and Philae Temple

  • Upon arrival at Aswan Train Station, meet the representative and begin your tour with a visit to the High Dam, which was built in 1971 to control the flooding of the River Nile.

  • There, you will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the River Nile and Lake Nasser behind the dam.

  • Continue to the beautiful Temple of Philae, built on a beautiful island in the River Nile for Goddess Isis, the goddess of magic and maternity.

  • After finishing the tour, drive to your Nile cruise.

  • Check in and relax for the rest of the day.

  • Enjoy the night show program on the cruise.

Day 05

Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples

  • On arrival at Kom Ombo, your Egyptologist guide will take you to visit the Graeco-Roman Kom Ombo Temple, shared by two gods: the Crocodile God Sobek and the Hawk God Horus the Elder.

  • Sail on to Edfu to visit the Graeco-Roman Temple of Horus, the Hawk God.

  • Afternoon tea will be served on the top deck while sailing to Luxor through Esna Lock.

Day 06

Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Memnon

  • Start your day by crossing to the west bank of the River Nile to visit the Valley of the Kings, home to the magnificent colorful sacred tombs of the great pharaohs of the 12th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st dynasties.

  • Continue to the commanding Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, which was built in the form of three terraces cut deep into the mountain and dates back to the 15th century B.C.

  • Afterwards, stop to take some nice pictures of the Colossi of Memnon, which were built as decoration for the facade of the temple of King Amun-Hotep III and later misnamed by the Greeks.

Day 07

Karnak Temples and Luxor Temple

  • Disembark after breakfast, then proceed to visit the great Karnak Temples, which were built over 2,000 years ago.

  • Afterwards, continue to the scenic Luxor Temple, built by Amun-Hotep III.

  • Transfer to Luxor Train Station to take your sleeper train back to Cairo.

Day 08

Departure from Cairo

  • Arrive at Cairo Train Station, then transfer to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
