4-Day Caving and Hiking Adventure in Gunung Mulu with Pinnacles

• Arrive at Mulu Airport and meet your Malaysian tour guide.

• Proceed to Deer Cave, reached by following a three-kilometre plank walk. On the way to the cave, you will see the great rainforest, jungle streams, and an ancient Penan burial cave. The Deer Cave visit is combined with Lang Cave, whose entrance is a short distance away. Lang Cave is the smallest show cave, but its rock formations are well worth seeing. These are made even more attractive by strategically positioned spotlights that highlight the stalactites and stalagmites.

• Proceed to the bats' observatory to watch bats flying out of the cave entrance in the late afternoon. Between 5 and 7 pm, if the weather is fine, you may be treated to the spectacular sight of a black cloud of free-tailed bats emerging from the cave entrance in search of food.

• Return by the same plank walk to the park headquarters.

• Have breakfast at Mulu and head by longboat to visit Batu Bungan, a Penan settlement in Sarawak, where you can observe the tribe's lifestyle and browse handicrafts on display for sale.

• Proceed by longboat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave with your local Miri guide. A plank walk leads from the riverbank to the entrance of Wind Cave, so named because of the cool breezes that can be felt in the narrow parts of the cave. Wind Cave, which is part of the Clearwater system, has many impressive stalactites, stalagmites, flow rocks, helictites, and rock corals, some of which are illuminated in the King's Room.

• Continue to Clearwater Cave, a fascinating cave with plank walks, paths, and small floating bridges that make this an easy and enjoyable experience.

• A picnic lunch is served at the Clearwater summer hut, where there is a crystal-clear pool filled with water flowing out of the cave. This is an excellent swimming spot for you.

• After breakfast, ascend Gunung Api for 3 hours to view the magnificent Pinnacles. During the climb, you will see many species of plants and insects within the isolated jungles of Borneo.

Dinner and overnight at Camp 5 dormitory.

• Have breakfast, followed by a jungle trek to Long Litut.

• Transfer to the Clearwater summer hut for a picnic lunch.

• Enjoy swimming in the clear water spring.

• Transfer back by longboat and then continue to Mulu Airport.
