Lake Sevan, Sevanavank, Noratus and Hayravank

  • Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location in Yerevan and begin your journey to Sevan.

  • Arrive at Sevan, the biggest lake not only in Armenia but also in the Caucasus, famous for its freshwater. The beach of the lake is full of locals and tourists all year round. In summer, they swim and relax here, while in winter they admire the beauty of its shining waters.

  • Visit Sevanavank Monastery, located very close to the road. Due to its convenient location at a crossroads, it remains crowded.

  • Continue to Noratus, an old cemetery known for its ancient khachqars (cross-stones). Many of them date back to the 10th century. This place is like a cluster of Armenian khachqars, and several tombstones in the cemetery depict carved scenes of weddings and farm life.

  • Proceed to Hayravank Monastery, dating from the 9th to 12th centuries, located on the southwestern part of Lake Sevan. A short distance from this site are the remains of a Bronze Age settlement with medieval fortification walls and foundations. During archaeological excavations, many tools, clay idols, numerous vessels, fireplaces, and two tombs from the Iron Age were discovered here.

  • Return to Yerevan.
