Day 01

Khor Virap, Areni Winery, Bird's Cave and Noravank

  • Begin the journey from Yerevan by heading to Khor Virap Monastery, located in Ararat province close to the Armenia-Turkey border. It is also known as the best place to view Mt. Ararat.

  • Visit Areni Winery with your Armenian tour guide and discover a thousand-year-long winemaking tradition.

  • Explore Bird's Cave, where the oldest shoe, about 5,000 years old, was found during excavations.

  • Stop by Noravank Monastery, founded in the 13th century and located in a narrow, deep gorge carved by the Amaghu River. The huge red cliffs surrounding it give the monastery a mysterious appearance.

  • Return to Yerevan.

Day 02

Tsaghkadzor, Lake Sevan, Dilijan and Haghartsin

  • Head to Kecharis Monastery in the city of Tsaghkadzor.

  • Take the ropeway and admire the picturesque scenery above the forests. If you take all five stations, you will reach 2,819 m above sea level and enjoy a fantastic view of the surroundings.

  • Proceed to Lake Sevan, the biggest lake in the Caucasus. It never loses its charm throughout the year and is regarded as the pride of the Armenian people.

  • Besides the lake, visit Sevanavank Medieval Monastery, located on a narrow peninsula of the lake.

  • Proceed to Dilijan, the most popular resort center in Armenia, known for its lush green forests.

  • Transfer to Haghartsin Monastery, a medieval complex located deep in the forest. The road to Haghartsin Monastery looks like a scene from a fairy tale, with giant overlapping trees lining both sides of the road.

  • End your trip and return to Yerevan.
