13-Day Botswana Wilderness Safari from Maun with Okavango and Chobe

Day 01

Arrival in Maun

• Arrive at Maun International Airport, where a Botswana safari guide holding a signboard with your name will meet you.
• You will then be transferred to your accommodation, where you will stay for one night on a bed-and-breakfast basis at your own expense.
• Lunch and dinner will also be at your own expense.
• Your safari officially begins in Maun.

Day 02

Into the Okavango Delta

• After breakfast, you will be transferred to the mokoro station at Boro, where you will spend two nights in the Okavango Delta area.
• On arrival at your camping area, freshen up, enjoy a short nature walk, then return to camp for lunch.
• After a siesta, enjoy high tea before resuming your afternoon activity. You will take part in mokoro and nature walking safari activities and enjoy an amazing experience. There will be much to see, from water-based animals to other wildlife such as zebra, impala, elephant, kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, hippo, and crocodile. Birdwatching is also remarkable here, with species including hornbills, secretary birds, cranes, vultures, plovers, and doves.
• Return to camp before sunset, shower, and have dinner.
• Later, sit around the fire and enjoy the fresh breeze.

Day 03

Guided Nature Walk and Mokoro Safari

• Begin your morning with a warm shower and breakfast.
• Set out on a guided nature walk.
• Return to camp for lunch and a siesta. You can sit under the canopy trees at the campsite and enjoy the cool breeze from the river.
• Before resuming your afternoon activity, enjoy high tea and then go for a mokoro safari.
• Return to camp before sunset, shower, and have dinner.

Day 04

Transfer to Moremi Game Reserve

• Begin your safari in the morning with a warm shower and breakfast, then depart for Moremi Game Reserve, where you may spot game along the road. Your arrival time at camp will depend on what you see on the way.
• Upon arrival at the campsite, lunch will be ready before you enjoy a siesta.
• After the siesta, enjoy high tea and resume your afternoon game drive.
• Later, before sunset, drive back to camp, have a warm shower, and dinner will be served.
• After dinner, sit around the campfire and enjoy the fresh breeze. Moremi is one of the accessible areas with amazing wildlife, animals, and bird species. The reserve is widely considered one of Africa's finest wildlife reserves, with diverse habitats comprising acacia and mopane woodland, floodplains, and lagoons. Wildlife highlights vary from day to day and may include leopards, lions, wild dogs, kudus, waterbucks, elephants, buffaloes, and impalas. Birdlife is also remarkable, with species such as secretary bird, hornbill, lapwing, vulture, African jacana, African fish eagle, hamerkop, and crested crane, among many others.

Game Viewing En Route to Khwai

• Start your safari in the morning with a warm shower and breakfast, then depart for Khwai, where you may see game along the road. Your arrival time at camp will depend on what you see on the way.
• Upon arrival at the campsite, your tents will be ready, and lunch will be served before you enjoy some siesta time.
• After the siesta, enjoy high tea and resume your afternoon game drive.
• Later, before sunset, drive back to camp, have a warm shower, and dinner will be served.

Early Game Drive in Khwai

• An early morning wake-up call for a shower, followed by tea or coffee with breakfast cereals and nibbles, prepares you for the early morning game drive, leaving camp just after sunrise.
• The morning drive heads out for game viewing through the beautiful scenery of this part of Khwai, with a very good chance of seeing buffalo, antelopes, and hippos.
• Return to camp for lunch and then enjoy a siesta.
• After your siesta, have high tea and resume your afternoon game drive.
• Come back to camp before sunset, have a shower, and dinner will be served around the campfire.

Journey to Savuti

Day 10

Travel to Chobe National Park

Day 11

Game Drive Along the Chobe River

• Have a quick breakfast before departing for a morning game drive.
• Come back to camp for lunch and then enjoy a siesta.
• After a siesta, go for an afternoon game drive along the Chobe River, where you will see big herds of buffaloes, elephants, pods of hippos, and a pride of lions. Chobe is a unique park because, during the dry season, large herds of animals congregate along the river. You will see elephants swimming from one bank to the other and buffaloes crossing to Sedudu Island.
• Return from a beautiful game drive, freshen up, and have dinner.

Day 12

Longer Morning Drive and Sunset Boat Cruise

• Have a quick breakfast before departing for a longer morning game drive. You will also have an opportunity to observe the animals from close up. Chobe also boasts two antelopes rarely encountered in Botswana - the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. With their shaggy orange-brown coats and V-shaped horns, the puku can be spotted grazing the floodplains.
• Return to the campsite after a beautiful drive, have lunch, and then go for a siesta.
• At 3:00 p.m., depart for a beautiful sunset boat cruise along the Chobe River at your own expense. From the boat, you will come very close to crocodiles and pods of hippos. You may also see lions, as well as big herds of buffaloes and elephants.
• Return to the camping area after sunset; dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. The last guest will determine the time for bed.

Day 13

Departure from Kasane

• Have a shower, then breakfast, and you will be transferred to the airport to continue with your onward travel arrangements. Shake hands at the airport and say goodbye.
