The itinerary

Day 01

Journey from Kolkata to Siliguri

• Start your journey to Siliguri by bus or train, depending on seat availability.
• Cheap flight tickets can also be arranged from Kolkata to Siliguri on prior request. This helps you save two nights.

Day 02

Siliguri to Maneybhanjan and Trek to Chitrey

• After breakfast in Siliguri, take a cab to Maneybhanjan, the base for the hike.
• Begin the hike by 2 p.m. after a light lunch.
• Trek through dense pine forests and reach Chitrey.
• Visit a Buddhist monastery and enjoy an overnight stay here in a beautiful homestay. You will rest at a height of 8,000 feet, which will help with acclimatisation.

Day 03

Hike from Chitrey to Tonglu

• Hike for about 8 km from Chitrey to Tonglu in around 6-7 hours, reaching a height of 11,500 feet.
• Behold the view of Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga. Overnight at Tonglu.

Day 04

Descent to Maneybhanjan and Return to Siliguri

• Prepare for a long day after breakfast.
• Descend from Tonglu to Maneybhanjan.
• From Maneybhanjan, transfer to Siliguri.
• Board a train or bus for Kolkata from Siliguri.

Day 05

Arrival in Kolkata

• Arrive in Kolkata to mark the end of the tour.
