Know before you go

  • Even if you're not a regular hiker but are keen to get a taste of the Czech countryside, you do need to be reasonably fit for a hike with Czech Adventure, as hill climbs come with the territory. Your guide will make sure you are comfortable with the pace and stop as often as needed. The philosophy is to slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature.

  • The single most important thing is to wear comfortable hiking boots or sports shoes suitable for walking. The ground can be uneven, and high heels are absolutely a no-go for the trip. While you need no special hiking clothing or equipment, it is recommended that you bring sunscreen and a hat for sunny weather or a rain jacket for wet weather. Additionally, pack an extra layer if it is cold.

  • This is a very personalised trip based on the guide's own experiences that they want to share. Guests can expect a lot of individual attention, with advice on clothing, weather, packing, and fitness levels before the trip. The Czech tour guide will ensure your safety and welfare during the hike and the entire trip, as well as help with any translations needed when ordering lunch or buying gifts. Most importantly, however, the guide will supervise you through this remarkable countryside and offer you a unique experience.

  • Currently, the choice of vegetarian and vegan food in the Czech countryside is not comprehensive. However, there are limited vegetarian meal options such as grilled cheese, grilled vegetables, fried potatoes, and risotto. The tour operators find it appropriate to advise guests that, if they are concerned about this, they should bring suitable snacks or food with them in case their dietary needs are not available.
