Day 01
Komani Lake Cruise and Shala River Escape
- Start the tour from Tirana at 06:00 am with your Albania tour guide. After breakfast on the way, the first attraction is Komani Lake. It was formed when the rugged Drini valley was dammed in the early 1970s, allowing Albania to quickly develop its own industrial base and become an energy exporter.
- Begin the boat trip, passing between 1000 to 1500 m-high mountains and through a series of deep, gorgeous, interconnected lakes, with hardly any signs of human activity on the shores. The journey to the Shala River takes 1 hour and 30 minutes by boat.
- Shala River is a tourist destination described by many visitors as the most beautiful pearl of Koman's Lake. The hazy colour and crystal-clear water are characteristic of this river. The steep, huge rocks covered with trees and green plants seem to rise to the sky, protecting this beauty that mother nature has so generously offered to your eyes and heart.
- Don't forget to bring your swimsuit, as some of you may dare to swim in this paradise known as the Albanian Thailand.
- Get back on the boat to Komani Dam at around 3:30 pm. From here, drive back to Tirana after a long but unforgettable experience.
