Day 01

High-Speed Train Journey to Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple

• Pick up at around 6 am from your hotel lobby, then transfer to Xi'an North Railway Station to catch train G1900 (07:35 AM - 09:08 AM), or a similar train, from Xi'an to Luoyang.
• Upon arrival in Luoyang, your local guide and driver will meet you at the railway station and take you to Longmen Grottoes, a treasure house of ancient stone-carving art with over 100,000 stone statues ranging in height from 2 cm to 17.14 m.
• After lunch, head to the famous Shaolin Temple, known for Shaolin Kung Fu. You will have a chance to see real Kung Fu performed by Shaolin monks.
• After visiting these two attractions, your tour guide will take you to the railway station for train G2027 (19:20-20:39), or a similar train, back to Xi'an. Upon arrival in Xi'an, you will be picked up at the station service center and transferred to your Xi'an hotel. Service ends here.

• Shaolin Temple is famous as one of China's most important Buddhist temples and as the center of Chinese Kung Fu. First constructed in 495, the temple was mainly designed to accommodate Batuo, a famous Indian monk. Now, Shaolin Temple is reputed as "the Number One Temple under Heaven" and is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural & Natural Heritage site. The temple is the cradle of Chinese Zen Buddhism and Shaolin martial arts.
