Furnas Valley, Terra Nostra Park and Caldeiras
Begin the tour in Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of São Miguel Island, with a short stop to taste the famous "Queijadas da Vila," a traditional pastry, with your Ponta Delgada tour guide.
Continue to Furnas Valley to visit Terra Nostra Park, possibly the best example of romantic 18th-century gardens in the Azores. Walk along paths surrounded by diverse vegetation and enjoy a thermal bath in the pool.
Before lunch, visit the Caldeiras area next to Furnas Lake, where you will watch demonstrations of the traditional Cozido and learn how it is cooked in the Caldeiras. The Cozido will be served for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, experience how the inhabitants of this parish live with a dormant volcano.
Visit the area of springs and fumaroles, where you can taste the waters that come directly from the rocks.
Return to Ponta Delgada along the North Coast, stopping at the Gorreana Tea Factory.
