Full-Day Alexandria Discovery from Cairo

  • Meet your Alexandria tour guide at the meeting point and begin your day with a drive from Cairo to Alexandria in an air-conditioned minivan (230 km).
  • Upon arrival in Alexandria, start by visiting the Catacombs, a famous burial site similar to those in Rome, featuring a masterpiece tomb that some scholars believe may be linked to Cleopatra.
  • Continue to Pompey's Pillar, a towering column in a renowned Greco-Roman monument site next to the Temple of Serapis, the main god of Alexandria during the Greek era.
  • Then drive to Qaitbay Fortress, built in 1477 CE on the site of the ancient famous Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. Break up the day with a lunch stop at a local touristic restaurant.
  • End the day with a visit to the Library of Alexandria, a modern gigantic library built under the name of the famous Old Library of Alexandria.
