Saqqara, Dahshour and the Great Pyramids of Giza
Get picked up from your hotel and start the day with a visit to Saqqara, the site of the first pyramid: the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, built by the genius architect Imhotep. You will also see the 5th-6th Dynasty Pyramids of Unas and Teti, which contain the oldest copies of the Pyramid Texts.
Then continue to Dahshour with your Egyptologist tour guide, the site of the Red Pyramid, the first complete pyramid of King Senfru, and his Bent Pyramid.
Optional: You may break the day with a lunch stop at a local touristic restaurant at your own expense.
Afterwards, visit the Great Pyramids of Giza. The three pyramids of the kings Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus are the only standing wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Continue with a visit to the Sphinx, the famous large statue representing the head of King Chephren and the body of a lion, as well as the Valley Temple of Chephren, the site of mummification of the body of the great king.
