Day by day
Depart early in the morning from Gondar to Debark.
In Debark, visit the park office to join up with a scout and guide.
Then, drive into the park to arrive at Sankaber. Here, you can either drive directly into Sankaber or have the car drop you off near Buyit Ras for a short hike. If you choose the hike, you will be greeted by an amazing landscape.
Spend the night at the Sankaber camp.
From Sankaber, begin your hike along the ridge and descend into the valley.
View the Jinbar River plunging down the Geech Abyss, creating a beautiful waterfall.
After some time at the waterfall, continue to Geech village to reach your campsite.
Overnight stay at the camp.
Embark on a 7-hour hike that offers the best breathtaking view in the Simien Mountains.
Reach the Imet Gogo peak at an altitude of 3,926 m. Here, take a break for lunch.
Then, hike the rest of the way to Ambaras, where you will be met by a car to bring you back to Gondar.
