Cerro Castillo National Park and Laguna Cerro Castillo Trek
Meet your tour guide and leave Coihaique at 8 a.m.
Travel through Cerro Castillo National Park, where you may catch glimpses of the Chilean deer. This park is home to the Chilean huemul, a native deer species, and in invierno it is also the area where more snow falls.
Reach the small village of Villa Cerro Castillo. From here, begin a light trek on horseback, available at an additional charge, or on foot. Pass many small glaciers and cross the evergreen lenga ñire forest to reach the majestic Laguna Cerro Castillo.
Return to the village by 4 p.m. to finish the trek.
Head back to Coihaique.
