Day 01

Pretoria's Historic Landmarks Tour

  • Pick up from the hotel at 8:00 am.

  • Visit the Voortrekker Monument. Situated in a beautiful setting, it is a unique monument that commemorates the pioneer history of Southern Africa and the history of the Afrikaners.

  • At this point, you may visit one of the diamond mining sites, such as the Premier Diamond Mine. This visit is optional.

  • Next is a 45-minute visit to the Paul Kruger House, named after the former President of South Africa, who was in office during the Anglo-Boer War. Also visit Church Square, the office of the late Paul Kruger.

  • Take a tea break and a short walk to the Union Buildings, famously known as the official offices of the South African president. This is also where Nelson Mandela was sworn in as the first Black democratically elected South African president.

  • Lastly, the tour ends with a visit to Melrose House, where the peace agreement treaty was signed in 1901 to end the wars between the English and the Boers.
